Well, a lot of things go into getting you a great price on flooring.
First take a look at our store. It's conveniently located at the corner of Melrose and Peters Creek Extension, but it's not really a showplace. We do our best to keep it clean and organized, but we don't spend a lot of money on fancy displays, and if you look at our salespeople, you can tell they don't get a clothing allowance.
Second, we buy a lot of endrolls and remnants. Sometimes there's some carpet left on the roll at the end of an order. We get a really good deal on those pieces of carpet…which are usually big enough to cover most residential rooms…and we pass it on to you. Same goes for vinyl.
Every now and then we get special deals on overruns. We've been doing this for about two decades and when the mills need to move inventory and they have an exceptional price, they know who to call.
And finally, there's our buyer Rick... We're not saying he's cheap, but if he would have been with the Dutch negotiating to buy Manhattan Island, he'd have probably told the Indians that he couldn't give them beads and blankets for the island…they'd have to choose one or the other. He plays hardball with the manufacturers so you can get a sweet deal on flooring.
It all adds up to more bottom line savings for you.
